Executive Summary

Truist Financial is, in our view at T&T Capital Management, one of the most strategically simplified regional banks in U.S. financials — post the May 2024 divestiture of Truist Insurance Holdings (TIH) for approximately $15.5 billion of total consideration / ~$10 billion net after-tax. The transaction raised the CET1 ratio by ~230 basis points + funded a $5 billion accelerated buyback + repositioned the bank as a focused commercial-and-retail banking franchise in the U.S. Southeast. At $46.30 per share the stock trades at approximately 11 times consensus FY2026 EPS + 1.6x tangible book value — modest premium to regional-bank peers reflecting both the post-TIH simplification + the Southeast geographic footprint.
